To provide rational use of biological resources of Caspian sea and to find general solutions for saving and augmenting of a current gene pool of sturgeon in West Kazakhstan the project of "Pilot-scale aquaculture complex for production of black caviar and commodity sturgeon" with closed water system was started in Uralsk.

The aquaculture plant consists of several areas: raising area, recycling area, food store, processing area, workroom and store, administrative and residential areas, and auxiliary production area that make up a whole production cycle from raising the sturgeon to making an end-product for placing it on the local market as well as abroad.

After starting this factory will give 64 tons of sturgeon and 8 tons of black caviar a year.
